This is a manual for using Cashier Desk.

Basic Information about the log in box of the SISH software:

The red box shows the panel from which a user selects the required category, which is the department the user is assigned to work on.

This box is used to select the authorised department of the selected category. The following categories are included.

  1. Admin: Medical, Record

  2. Cash: Cashier, Account

  3. Clinic: Clinician, Consultant, Research

  4. Labs: Technician, Technologist

  5. Pharm: Dispensar, Pharmacist

  6. Store: Purchase, Store

The highlighted box represents the Username and the Password given to the hospital staff to use the software.

Specific user can log in to the assigned department only.

Change the user password:

  1. Put on the details of the user as shown below with old password and then click on ‘Change’.

  1. A box will open as shown below. The red box below shows the old password. Remove the old password and replace it with any new password as required.

  1. Click on the ‘Update’ or press enter after changing the password as shown below.

Log In Screen Of The Software

  1. For Cashier, select ‘Cash’ Option and select ‘Cashier’ from drop down menu.

  2. Type the username and press enter and then type the password of the user.

  1. Click ‘Ok’ or press ‘Enter’ to enter the software.

The main page :

Register New patients :

  1. Click on Activity from the menu and select Cashier Form. The form below will appear.


  1. To register a new patient for OPD, press F1 key from the keyboard and a registration form will open.

  1. Enter the details of the patient and press enter when save button is activated as shown below.

  1. Save the page and the patient number and encounter Id will be automatically generated.

  2. Press F12 key to print the sticker.

The other informations about patient like Contact No. , Email Id, Guardian and Relation can be added as per required by clicking on the check box beside those individual box.

Ext Code refers to any external code that is given to the patient.

Discount refers to the category that has been given to the patient according to which the bill is discounted. ‘General’ refers to no discount to patient.

Billing Mode: Any Item can have one or more than one cost depending on its billing mode. For example OPD Registration, Sodium test have low cost in day OPD in comparison to evening Private clinic services. Billing modes can be created using "Billing Modes" form in Billing menu of Account desk. The billing modes for a particular department can be scheduled to change according to date time using "Bill Schedules" form in Settings menu of Account Desk.

Consultant refers to any health officier that can be assigned to the patient.

To view the last visit and encounter ID of the registered patient:

Enter the patient number in the form and press ‘Enter’. Press on the ‘?’ beside the text box and the information box will open that shows the ‘Last Encouter Id’ of the patient and ‘Last Visit’ date of the patient as shown below.

The red color box above shows the information about the patients registered on the date that is shown above the box.

The date can be changed and the referesh button can be clicked to view the registered patient on that date.



Check the overall billing report:

  1. From the title bar, click on Reports and then select on billing report.

  1. Select the required date to see the records of the billing and press Refresh.

  1. The total number of records shows the number of billing done within the given dates and the total amount received is shown as RECV AMT.

  • From: Date from which the report is to be viewed.

  • To: Date until which the report is to be viewed.

  • EncID: Check the report of the particular Encounter ID of the patient.

  • User: Check the billing report from a particular user of the hospital.

  • Invoice: Check the billing report of the particular Invoice ID or bill number.

  • QTY Chart: Check the bok to view the billing report in Chart format according to Quantity.

  • AMT Chart: Check the bok to view the billing report in Chart format according to Amount received.

  • Export: To export the report in different formats.

  • TAX AMT: Shows the total tax amount.

  • DISC AMT: Shows the total discount amount.

  • TOTAL AMT: Shows the total billed amount.

  • RECV AMT: Shows the total amount received.


Check the userwise billing report:

  1. From the title bar, click on Reports and then select on billing report.

  2. Select the required date to see the records of the billing.

  3. Select the ‘user’ from the option and type the username of the cashier.

  4. Click Refresh and the records of the billing report of given username only will be shown.

Print bills for the services:

  1. Click on the activity from menu bar and select cashier form.

  1. Enter the Encounter Id of the patient and press enter. The record of the patient will be shown.

  1. Select the required option for the box highlighted above such as Test, Services, Radiology, etc. Press Enter and select the respected test or service name. Press enter until the required service is listed as shown.

  1. Press F12 to print the bill and save the record.

  • Prev Deposit: Shows the deposited amount of the patient.

  • DISC: Shows the total discount amount.

  • TAX: Shows the total taxable amount.

  • Recv Amount: Shows the total amount to be received from the patient for the services listed.

  • Curr Deposit: Shows the remaining deposited amount.

  • Total AMT: Shows the overall total amount.

  • Clear: Clears the form.

This icon is used to show a short summary of the patient bills after entering the Encounter ID.

View the patient overall bill report:

  1. Click on ‘Activity’ and ‘Cashier Form’ and then enter the encounter ID of the patient whose report is required to be viewed.

  2. Click on ‘Report’ and then click on any of the options to view the details about it.

  1. The details can be viewed in different formats as per required. Any one option can be selected.

Option 1: To print the report from the installed printer.

Option 2: To view the report in browser.

Option 3: To view the report in pdf file.

Option 4: To view the report in Excel format.

Option 5: To send the report through mail.

Option 6: To send the report in FTP server.

Option 7: To send the report within the network.

Return the bill

  1. Click on Activity and select Return form from the menu bar. A return form will open.

  1. Enter the bill number (not the encounter ID or patient number) on the box highlighted above and press Enter. The patients data will be shown.

  1. Write down the reason for the return of the bill and select the services or test that is required to be returned.

  1. Fill the last box with the number of services to be removed. The quantity must be greater than 0. Press Enter. Repeat the process if more than one tests or services has to removed.

Save the file by pressing ‘Ctrl+S’. Then press ‘Enter’ and print the bill.



Search a Patient Details:

  1. Click on ‘Activity’ and then click on ‘Cashier Form’.

  1. Click on ‘File’ from the menu and then click on ‘Search’.

  1. Following box will open as shown below.

  1. Type the Name, Surname, Address, Contact, Gender, District or any one of the known field and click on ‘Search’.

  2. The details of the patient will be displayed as shown below. Right click on the required patient to check the ‘Last Encounter’, ‘Photograph’ and ‘All Encounter’ of the patient.

  • Export can be used to view or save the file in different formats.

Option 1: To print the report.

Option 2: To view the report in browser.

Option 3: To view the report in pdf file.

Option 4: To view the report in Excel.

Option 5: To send the mail.

Option 6: To save the report.

Option 7: To send the file in the network.

  • Search DB has two options: Search from Local Database Server or Remote Database Server.
